MCSWA / Campaigns / TB HIV Scheme
TB HIV Scheme was initiated from July 2015 supported by Revised National Tuberculosis Control Program (RNTCP) under the direction of District Tuberculosis Officer (DTO) West Jaintia Hills District. The purpose of the scheme is to screen the People Living with HIV (PLHIV) and the patients of TB as they are prone to contracting a co -infection with both HIV and TB due to their deteriorating immune system. There is a doctor, 2 Outreach Workers and 2 Peer Educators working for this scheme.
