SAWAR project under the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) West Jaintia Hills District, was implemented from April 2017 as the District has witnessed a rapid increase of HIV infection in both its rural and urban areas. Its main objective is to combat stigma and discrimination for those infected by HIV/AIDS through intensive awareness program for better understanding of the disease.
Through this Target Intervention, the HRGs are provided with both physical support and psychosocial support and other services which are as follows:
